Days after releasing the trailer of his upcoming web series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, filmmaker Karan Johar has found himself in a bit of a trouble. National award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has alleged that the title “Bollywood Wives” belongs to him and both Karan Johar as well as Dharma Productions’ CEO Apoorva Mehta had asked for it.
However, the Fashion filmmaker refused to give away the title as his project with the said title is also underway. Post the refusal, Bhandarkar has alleged that the Johar and Mehta tweaked the tile and named their series, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
Madhur Bhandarkar has now requested the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director to change the title and has urged him to not dent his project which is underway.
His tweet reads, “Dear @karanjohar U & @apoorvamehta18 had asked me 4 the title #BollywoodWives for web, which I refused,as my project is underway. It is Morally & ethically wrong u to tweak it to #TheFabulousLivesofBollywoodWives. Pls do not dent my project. I humbly request u to change the title.”
Apart from the request via social media, Madhur Bhandarkar has also filed a complaint against Dharma Productions with Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA). After Madhur’s complaint, IMPPA wrote to Guild which responded by saying that they haven’t issued the title to the makers for the web series.
Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives stars Neelam Kothari Soni, former actress and wife of actor Samir Soni, Seema Khan, wife of Sohail Khan, Maheep Kapoor, wife of Sanjay Kapoor and Bhavana Panday, wife of Chunky Panday.
