In line with the announcement made by the Government of Karnataka, earlier today, Bhaskar Rao handed over the charge of BCP to the newly-appointed Kamal Pant. The change in roles was as per the regular procedure that is followed by the government.
Mr. Bhaskar Rao pens an emotional parting note
Bhaskar Rao was loved by the citizens of Bengaluru for his efficient handling of the lockdown crisis. Also, Mr. Rao was extremely active on Twitter, which had helped him get closer to the citizens. As he handed over the charge to Mr. Pant today, he penned an emotional note on Twitter. He expressed gratitude for the ‘unstinting’ support, cooperation, tolerance and the help by the citizens of the city. Here is what he had to say:

Mr. Rao also got emotional at his office today
Earlier today, Kamal Pant was received at the BCP office with a guard of honor by KSRP. Later, on the exchange of the baton, the charges were officially handed over to Mr. Pant.
Also, on request of the DCP’s and the ACP’s, Bhaskar Rao participated in a photoshoot at the office. Then, at his chamber, Mr. Rao got emotional as he vacated his office. Thanking the people of Bengaluru for their unwavering support, Mr. Rao shed tears in gratitude. He also wished luck to the newly appointed commissioner.
