‘No More Rajinikanth Jokes’; Actor issues Public Notice against illegal usage of his Name

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has issued a public notice on the violation of rights and warned of legal action against those who commercially exploit his name, image, voice, etc., without taking his permission.

Actor Rajinikanth has warned against copyright infringement and threatened legal action against anyone using his name, likeness, or voice for commercial benefit without his permission. His attorney S. Elambharathi published a notice informing the public that anyone who violates the actor’s personality, including his voice, picture, name, or other distinctive conduct, will face civil and criminal penalties.

The notice also stated that several mediums, platforms, product manufacturers were misappropriating his name, image, voice, caricature image, and artistic image, and AI-generated images to create confusion among the public and to attract them to buy certain products or to access the medium through which the actor`s manners were misused.

The notice said, “His charisma and nature as an actor and human being has earned him the title of `Superstar` called by millions and millions of his fans across the world. The sheer proportion of his fan base and his respect across the film industry is unmatched and indisputable. Any damage to his reputation or personal life would entail a great loss to our client.”

Rajinikanth, aka Rajini, is one of the top faces of the Tamil film industry, where he has been the pre-dominant top man for over four decades now. He has delivered some of the biggest hits in the industry’s history over the years and also has pan-India popularity, having appeared in successful Hindi films too.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Annaatthe, directed by Siruthai Siva. Now, he is busy filming Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer. Sun Pictures has a huge budget to make the movie. The popular Malayalam actor Mohanlal will make a brief appearance in the movie. Jailer, a Sun Pictures production, is scheduled to open in theatres later this year.
