Kantara Brings Storm In AP & Telangana, Set To Overtake KGF 1’s Lifetime Collection

Kannada film Kantara, which has globally grossed over Rs 150 crore at the ticket window, was dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages over the weekend. As per trade reports, the film has exceeded expectations in the Telugu version.

Recently released Kantara is in no mood to slow down at the box office all over the country. The Telugu-dubbed version of the Rishab Shetty directorial has been making waves worldwide since its release.

According to the box office tracking portal Andhra Box Office, the Telugu version of Kantara is having a dream run in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and is on its way to overtaking the lifetime collections of KGF 1.

4 days collection

“Kantara Telugu (version): Another good day for the film. The overall production budget of Rs 8 crore has already been recovered from AP (Andhra Pradesh) and TS (Telangana) alone with Rs 16 crore approx gross in four days. This will cross KGF: Chapter 1’s ( Rs 24 crore) closing gross easily here in the second weekend,” Andhra Box Office tweeted. Currently, the worldwide collection of Kantara Telugu for the four days is around Rs. 20 crores, reported 123 Telugu.

 

In the Telugu states, Kantara was released on 400 plus screens. The Telugu version was sold for Rs 2 crore, which the film recovered from its first day. It has already earned profits for the buyer. Kantara was released alongside Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: I, and still managed to perform well at the box office.

Kantara has Rishab Shetty, Kishore, Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Naveen D Padli, and Pramod Shetty in prominent roles. Anjaneesh Loknath is the music director of this film.
