The rain struck all across the city
It was literally a Kumbhadrona rain in Laggere and Kurubarahalli junction. It was all water in the houses as the water level rose up to 20 feet against an 8 feet wall causing the death of two in the area. They got washed away as the water gushed and gained force.
Kurubarahalli junction observed the death of a priest (Vasudeva). The person was the main Archaka in Venkateshwara temple and Ganesha temple of Basaveshwara Nagar. It is also reported that a couple died on the spot (Shankarappa and Kamalamma) when a wall collapsed due to heavy rain.
The fire and emergency services have come for the rescue and announcements are being made on loudspeakers, not to step outside.
