If any celebrity in the world has a heart of gold, then it has to be Sonu Sood. The Bollywood actor has been called a ‘superhero’ for his incredible charitable work during the lockdown and even after it was lifted.  Not just that, but Sood was awarded the SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in September.

But recognition, countless wishes, and blessings along with prestigious awards still won’t stop him from working for the needy. Reports claim that Sood mortgaged eight of his properties in Juhu, including six flats and two shops, for raising an amount of Rs 10 crores to help the poor.

According to Moneycontrol, Sonu Sood has reportedly mortgaged several of his properties in Mumbai to raise Rs 10 crore to help those in need.

The properties Sood put on loan include six flats and two shops. These properties are owned by him and his wife Sonali. The properties have been mortgaged with Standard Chartered Bank, and the agreement was signed in September and registered on November 24.

Sonu Sood also spoke to PTI about how working for migrants and just anyone in need has been a life-changing experience for him.

“The whole experience was a life-changing experience…living with the migrants for sixteen to eighteen hours a day and sharing the pain. When I go to see them off as they begin their journey back home, my heart is filled with joy and relief,”  said Sonu Sood.
