The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), General Manoj Mukund Naravane, on Saturday said that the Army will take immediate action on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if orders to that effect are given to it by the government.
Army Chief on POK
Army Chief MM Naravane on Saturday addressed the media and emphasized on various issues like national security, newly formed CDS and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Naravane said that if Parliament wants PoK to be a part of India then we will take the necessary action to achieve that goal.
“There is a governmental resolution that whole J&K is part of India. If Parliament wants it, then, that region (PoK) also should belong to us. When we get commands to that effect, we’ll take proper action,” he said.

He was also asked about the workability of military operations in PoK in this connection, to which Gen. MM Naravane told the news channel, “We have our forces stationed all across the border, including J&K, and we have several plans, and if required, those plans can be put into operation. We will carry out — and carry out successfully — any task that we are asked to do.”
Army well equippedÂ
When asked about China shifting military infrastructure along the borders, Gen Naravane said “We are qualified to deal with challenges along the northern border. We are beginning rebalancing of preparedness along the northern border, including moving advanced weapon systems. The focus will be on combination within the Army and among the three services.”
“Alliance will also be within the Army and the combined battle group is just one example of that. But I also want to guarantee everyone that in this process of integration we will take everyone along. Nobody will be left behind,” he said.
