In another series of accusations and conjectures, US President Doland Trump has acknowledged that the novel coronavirus which has claimed more than 150,000 deaths worldwide was leaked accidentally by an intern at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

Fox News in the US made a report where unnamed sources said that though the virus can occur naturally, it was being studied at a lab in Wuhan. The first course of transmission was bat-to-human and that patient zero was actually found in Wuhan lab and not in the Huanan wet markets.

The report made by Fox News also said that the Chinese government deflected the blame towards the wet market to hide the fact that the virus originally did come from a laboratory.

During a press conference at the White House, Fox reporter asked President Trump about these claims, he simply said, “more and more we’re hearing the story and we’ll see.”

In the same press conference, he also added “We are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation that happened,” President Trump has been voicing concern over the fact that both China and WHO partook in some type of a cover-up regarding the origins of this virus. So much so that US announced that they would cut WHO’s funding.

Many have doubted China’s words when it came to COVID-19 and there is no doubt that there won’t be an emotional and political fallout when all of this is over.

So far, in the US more than 700,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 with almost 30,000 people dead.
