Congress Slams BJP, RSS For Not Inviting Them To Ram Temple Ceremony

The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is all set to happen on the 5th of August in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, Congress has come forward and slammed the BJP for not inviting them to the ceremony.

The Congress party slammed the BJP for stealing the credit of the Supreme Court verdict and turning the event into an exclusive BJP-RSS ceremony. This was confirmed by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra which was set up to oversee the construction of the temple. The treasurer of the trust, Swami Govind Dev Giri confirmed that they have not invited any opposition leaders. He said,

“We have not sent an invite to any political party as we don’t want to differentiate between parties. We can’t pick and choose. Lord Ram is a holy figure for all. We are appealing to all those who have not been invited to pray wherever they are.”

LK Advani Invited

Among many who are invited for the ceremony are senior BJP leaders like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar and Sadhvi Rithambhara. The chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, and the general secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi is also set to attend the ceremony.

The preparations for the ceremony have been in full swing in the city of Ayodhya. There has been a grand welcome planned for Prime Minister Modi who is set to lay the foundation stone at around 12.15 pm. As a part of that, there will be buildings on both sides of the roads from where the Prime Minister’s convoy will reach the Ram Janmbhoomi site. The paintings will be on the buildings on both sides of the three-kilometer stretch which will have sketches of Ramayana. The work has been assigned to Ayodhya Nagar Nigam by the Ayodhya Information Deputy Director Murli Dhar Singh.
