Kantara qualifies for 2 contention list
Kannada film Kantara has made it to the Academy Awards contention list in the Best Picture and Best Actor categories. This means that the film is qualified for Oscar members to cast a vote to push it through to the main nominations.
With this, SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Rishab Shetty’s Kantara have begun their Oscar journey. Soon, we will know if Kantara would make it to the final nominations.

‘Kantara’ was submitted for the Oscars 2023 which has certainly made all the people of Karnataka proud. During the movie’s successful run in the theatres, netizens urged the makers to submit the film to Oscar and they trended with various hashtags trending to send the film to the Academy Awards.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, ‘Kantara’ was released on September 30th only in Kannada. Seeing the incredible response all over Karnataka and other parts of India, the makers were forced to dub the film in other languages in the next weeks and ‘Kantara’ went on to become a spectacular blockbuster in Hindi and Telugu languages with amazing unbelievable collections for its content and theme which became a universal connect to people across India.
