In line with other restaurants such as Veena Stores, Ebony, and Anna Kuteera, which have temporarily shut down their services, iconic Bengaluru eatery Koshy’s has also now joined the list. The restaurant officials have announced that the dine-in services would be discontinued until normalcy resurfaces.
Decision taken in the interest of customer safety
Speaking to Times of India, a Koshy’s official said that although the lockdown was lifted on Wednesday, the restaurant has chosen not to open the shutters as they do not want to risk the guests or employees of being exposed to the virus.
A popular restaurant known for its continental food and old-world charm, Koshy’s is an extremely popular joint in the city. Speaking about the situation after the lockdown, an official said that after June 8th, the influx of customers was actually good and steady. This was until July 15th, when the restaurant was shut again due to the lockdown imposed by the state.
The bakery of the restaurant will be kept open
However, the bakery of the restaurant will be kept open. The purchase and takeaways of bread, biscuits, pastries, and assorted foods will still be in place. The food delivery options will also be open.
The restaurant management said that they were never forced in the past to shut down their operations. They also said that for serving limited number of guests too, the situation is hard as social distancing and sanitization norms have to be followed.
