Karnataka Government, on Thursday, said that Bengaluru would soon have mobile booths for testing the Coronavirus infection. Here is more about the Government’s latest tool against the COVID-19 outbreak:
CM BS Yediyurappa inaugurated a Test Booth in Bengaluru on Thursday
Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa launched the Mobile Test Booth, as a measure to fight the pandemic in the state. He was accompanied by Minister B Sriramulu and MP Tejasvi Surya.
Mobile Booths to work in all wards of the City
BSY said that the booths would be available in all the wards of the city, to increase the pace of testing in the city.
The booths will collect throat samples of the suspected individuals
The booth will collect throat swabs of the suspected individuals.
The booth has been modeled based on the one used in South Korea
A similar kiosk has been functioning in South Korea. The Bengaluru Model is reportedly based on this.
The booth does not require the workers to wear protective gear
The booth has been designed in such a way that the health-care workers would not be required to don any protective gear.
Booth will be placed on an Autorickshaw
The booths will be placed on a rickshaw and will be used across all the words in the city.
Collection of samples based on instructions by ICMR
Indian Council of Medical Research has issued guidelines for collecting the throat samples. The same will be followed in the booth.
The booth is developed by RGUHS
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences has developed the booth in Bengaluru.
Launched at CM’s residence “Krishna”
The booth was launched in CM’s residence ‘Krishna’ yesterday. The officials gave a demo to the CM at the launch.
A week ago, Kerala had also released a similar kiosk
Last week, Kerala had also inaugurated a similar booth. The model is functioning well in the neighboring state.
