On Monday, Karnataka Government announced that including Bengaluru, a total of 9 districts in the state would be completely locked down. While the government had announced a lockdown on Sunday night, people defied it and a large number of people were seen in the city today. The lockdown announced now is stricter and a wider one.
Bhaskar Rao, the City Police Commissioner spoke to the media and briefed upon the essential services that will be available in the city. He also mentioned that unnecessary mobility in the streets will be penalized under IPC Section 269 and 270 – negligent action likely to spread disease dangerous to life – and KP Act 30L.
As the lockdown was announced, the Twitter Citizens of Bengaluru rushed to express their opinion on the matter. From lauding the efforts of the officials to expressing displeasure over the negligence of people, here’s what they said.

@CMofKarnataka @Govt_Karnataka @NammaBESCOM Announcing a lockdown isn't going to be enough when you can't ensure a 24×7 power supply. How can we maintain business continuity by working from home if there's no power? #Covid19India #BangaloreLockdown

The crows have been gathering in large numbers since yesterday and cawing crazily. Anyone know why or what’s happening? My guess is the city being dead has reduced their sources of Food. Could that just be it? #Bangalorelockdown pic.twitter.com/sCqMClkb0p
