As the Bombay High Court ruled in favour of Kangana Ranaut and went against BMC’s demolition of her Mumbai bungalow, BJP launched an attack on the Maharashtra government and CM Uddhav Thackeray.
BJP leader Atul Bhatkhalkar said that the decision of the Bombay High Court was a slap on the face of the state government. “Demolition of Kangana’s house was an act done with malafide intentions. The court has also talked about giving her compensation and this has come only because the BMC acted at the behest of the chief minister,” the BJP leader said.
Bombay High Court on Friday quashed and set aside an order by BMC to demolish Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai bungalow and held that she is entitled to a compensation due to the malafide action by BMC.
The high court also noted that after analysing the Saamana articles and news channel clips of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, the evidence lends credence to the charges that Kangana Ranaut was threatened.
Reacting to the court order, the BJP leader said, “The CM of the state should take moral responsibility of this issue and now that compensation will have to be given the CM should take out money from his own pocket since the BMC had put up big lawyers against Kangana and paid them. This money shouldn’t be coming from the public.”
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Kirit Somaiya welcoming the decision of the Bombay High Court held the Mumbai Mayor and BMC Commissioner responsible and demanded their resignation over the issue. He also added sharply that Sanjay Raut would now be speechless.
On September 9, the BMC had demolished most of the alleged unauthorised construction at Kangana Ranaut’s office-cum-residential bungalow in Pali Hill of Bandra (west).
