A video, which has gone viral on social media, shows a group of people marching towards the house of a young man and later hitting and questioning him over a social media post. A 19-year-old Muslim boy was beaten for showing support to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her comments on Prophet Muhammad.

A 19-year-old Muslim boy Saad Ansari from the Kesharbaag area of Bhiwandi was arrested by Nizampura police station in Bhiwandi from his house for posting derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad on social media and showing support to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her comments on Prophet Muhammad.
In his post, the boy hailed Nupur Sharma, whom the BJP suspended on June 5 over her alleged degrading remarks against Prophet Mohammad, calling her a “brave lady”. His post created outrage in the society where he lived and a tense-like situation was created in Bhiwandi after the post went viral on social media.
Senior police inspector of Nizampura police station NP Pawar said, “A case has been recorded against the youth following a growing demand from the mob who gathered outside his house. We have arrested Saad Ansari and started investigating the case.”
Man forced to apologize
Later the young man was slapped, forced to apologize, and made to read Islamic prayers by a Muslim mob that had barged into his house.

The Bhiwandi police station has registered an FIR against the rioters under Sections 141 (unlawful Assembly), 143 (punishment for unlawful assembly,147 (punishment for rioting), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal code (IPC).
