In a viral video, actress-turned-director Geethu Mohandas confirms her next film. Her statement clearly indicates that she will be working with the Sandalwood actor for Yash 19.
Yash 19 to have female director
With just two films, ‘KGF 1’ and ‘KGF 2’ directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films, Kannada actor Yash has become a Pan-Indian superstar. Fans across the country can’t wait to see him on the big screen again, but he’s taking it easy and hasn’t made any moves to begin his next project in over a year.
Hombale Films has already announced that ‘KGF 3′ will take place, but it won’t be for a couple of years because Prashant Neel needs to finish Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ before moving on to ‘NTR 31’.
Meanwhile, there was widespread speculation in Sandalwood that Yash had heard a script narration by actress-turned-director Geethu Mohandas and liked it so much that he gave her the green light to develop the project.
Fans, understandably, were divided by this news, mostly because many were clueless about her credentials and those who did were not confident that she could handle Yash’s stardom and image effectively, given her last was the critically-acclaimed Moothon. Fans were also able to quickly locate a video clip of an old interview with Geethu in which she stated that she was considering making a gangster film.
In the clip, she is asked to at least give a slight hint about her next project. To this she says, “It’s a Gangster film, with a female Gaze, How about that?”. After all, this could be her collaboration with Yash. Here’s the video:
