“You must Skip IPL”: Venkatesh Prasad Requests Under-Fire KL Rahul, Quashes ‘Personal’ Issues

Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has been a relentless critic of KL Rahul for a while now. After the India opener from Karnataka was disappointed with the bat again, he urged him to play County Cricket and think about giving the IPL 2023 season a miss. He even said that he does not have anything against KL Rahul after posting a series of controversial tweets.

India’s opening batter KL Rahul’s horror show with the bat continued in the second Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he failed to register big scores in both innings. In the first innings, Rahul was dismissed on 17, and in the second innings, he was sent back to the pavilion for only 1 run.

India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday after beating Australia in the second Test by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has been critical of Rahul of late and has given some good pieces of advice.

“Rahul needs to play County cricket in England, score runs, and earn his place back, much like Pujara did when he was dropped. Playing Test Cricket for the country and doing everything possible to get back in the form will be the best answer. But will it be possible to skip the IPL?” Venkatesh Prasad wrote.

The former pacer from Karnataka was vocal about KL Rahul’s recent performance. His series of Tweets criticizing Rahul shows how disappointed Venky Sir was with the batter. The former fast bowler even called Rahul a product of favoritism and said that his selections have denied the chances to talented players who have been waiting on the sidelines of the Indian team.
