Kantara Earns Rs 400 Cr, But Rishab was only given ‘Peanuts’; Where’s the justice?

Kantara has become one of the most successful Indian films of the year. Also, Rishab Shetty can be called the hero and director of the year 2022 for scoring a blockbuster. But did you know, the lead actor, writer, and director was paid only a little for his massive efforts?

Rishab Shetty Paid less?

After witnessing success in the theaters, Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster Kantara is now streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Along with KGF: Chapter 2 and 777 Charlie this year, Kantara also played a crucial part in revolutionizing Kannada cinema and bringing the industry national recognition. Now, the remuneration of actors in the movie has come to the fore and Rishab Shetty is getting very less than what he deserved.

Hombale Films banner made the film at the cost of Rs 16 Cr and ended up making a gross collection of more than Rs 460 Cr. Many wanted to know the total remuneration Rishab Shetty received for this film. According to the reports Rishab Shetty was paid Rs 4 Cr for his work as the protagonist and director of the film.

Well, this comes as a surprise as the 39-year-old not only played the lead role but also directed the movie. He was largely responsible for the success of the film and Hombale films only paid him a handful of money to direct and star in the film. If this is true then it would be a big injustice to Rishab.

However, there is no news if the production banner has offered anything adequately for him after lifting such a fortune. If not this time, hope the Hombale films at least offer something big for him for Kantara 2.
