Kantara actor and director Rishab Shetty had once compared Rashmika Mandanna to Kashi Halwa. Here’s how he justified himself after giving her this name.
The controversy
Quite recently, reports of Rishab Shetty and Rashmika Shetty taking a dig at each other have been making headlines. It all started when the Pushpa actress opened up about receiving hatred from trolls. The actress was brutally slammed for saying that she hadn’t watched Kantara.
Following this, the Kannada superstar and director of ‘Kantara’ maintained that he wasn’t keen to act with Rashmika Mandanna. He was responding to a question as to who among the following actors (Rashmika Mandanna, Keethy Suresh, Sai Pallavi, and Samantha) he would like to act.
After facing a lot of hatred, Rashmika finally clarified that she has now seen Kantara. She added that after seeing the movie, she sent a message to the team and congratulated them and even heard back.
She finally brought this controversy to an end when she said that she loved everyone back home and wanted nothing but peace.
All about Rishab and Rashmika
Rishab Shetty was the one who launched Rashmika Mandanna with his first venture as a director in the hit Kirik Party. He always had high hopes for the Dear Comrade actress. But things went differently when she broke up with Rakshit Shetty, who is Rishab’s closest pal.
Once in an interview with Metrosaga, while promoting his film ‘Hero’, the actor had called Rashmika ‘Kashi halwa’.
The actor was asked to compare the following actress with a popular sweet. He named all the sweets accordingly.
Haripriya: Champakali
Sheetal Shetty: Godhi Paysa (a dessert made with Wheat)
Pragathi: Jamun with Ice cream
Rashmika: Kashi/ Kumblakai Halwa
When asked why the particular sweet was mentioned after her name the actor refuses to answer and laughs.
