Rashmika Mandana has been making a lot of headlines lately. While the whole country appreciates actors down south, the Pushpa actress is being trolled left and right for her recent indirect comments which have triggered an ugly controversy.
The controversy around Rashmika
The 26-year-old gained fame from her first appearance opposite her ex-fiancé and actor Rakshit Shetty. In a recent interview with Curly Tales, she talked about her initial experience of becoming an actor and how she got the opportunity. The actress refused to take the name of the production house Paramvah Studios (Kannada Production House through which she made her debut) as she said, I got a call from “this production house apparently”. This has left Karnataka fans furious as she was allegedly disrespecting her roots.
After this, Rishab Shetty took a dig at the Dear Comrade actress. The Kantara star was asked in an interview with Gulte.com which actress he would like to work with. The interviewer gave him four options: Rashmika Mandanna, Keerthy Suresh, Sai Pallavi, and Samantha.
Rishab quickly replied, “I decide my actors once I finish my script. I prefer working with newcomers as they come with no barriers. These actors, I don’t like them (mai actors ko script likhne ke baad choose karta hoon, aur mujhe “iss” type ke actress, I don’t like them).”
He was apparently pointedly referring to Rashmika Mandanna where he used air quotes for saying ‘iss type ke actress’.
It is now also being speculated that Rashmika’s movies will be banned in Karnataka as per a viral tweet which says, “News from Karnataka that Kannada Theatre Owners, Organizations and Film Industry will soon be going to take an action on #RashmikaMandanna !!! They may go to the extent of banning @iamRashmika’s films permanently from #Karnataka Worrying thing for #PushpaTheRule and #Varisu Teams.”

A reply to Rishab?
Amid all this, Rashmika Mandana was recently interviewed by E Times and asked about her off-camera personality. Rashmika says, “Well, that’s just how I am. This is my personality. I can’t fake it as people will catch it that I am doing all this just for the camera. Moreover, I just can’t pull off an act off-camera, as that’s not me.”
Well, it is unclear if she was talking about her earlier statements that brought her controversies. But one thing is sure that there is a Cold War occurring between Rashmika and Rishab Shetty, which is seemingly mild.
