Big Revelation From Rishab Shetty
Writer, Director, and actor Rishab Shetty has disclosed that he shot the intense action sequence in the climax of his latest release Kantara with both his shoulders dislocated. Kantara has been one of the biggest box office hits of the year and the climax fight scene has received particular praise.
In Kantara, the climax scene witnesses a large conflict between villagers and the local strongman’s henchmen. Rishab’s character Siva leads the fight against the antagonists. The sequence has been praised for its intensity and impact.
While speaking with IMDB, Rishab opened up about the last scene. “The sequence was very difficult because it was a single shot with 360-degree shots and a rain effect. And it was difficult to carry water to that place. So, we asked villagers over there if we could draw water from the well there. The shoot went on for 6 to 7 days and we used the water from there. By the time, the shoot ended, the well’s water had finished. It was pretty hectic.”
Dislocated shoulders
Additionally, Rishab dislocated both his shoulders during the shoot but continued to carry on. “While rehearsing for that scene, I had an issue with my shoulder. During one 360-degree shot, I dislocated my shoulder. While shooting another sequence the next day, I dislocated the other sequence too. Both my shoulders were dislocated but I continued to shoot.”
Meanwhile, the film has earned over Rs 400 crore at the global box office and has become the sixth Indian film to achieve this milestone after RRR, KGF Chapter 2, Ponniyin Selvan I, Brahmastra, and Vikram. Also, the film is the highest-grossing film ever in the state of Karnataka. The Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu versions of the film was released on Prime Video on Thursday, November 24.
