The fifth Friday of the film is the biggest Friday of the run, overtaking the Rs. 7.30 crores it did on its fourth Friday. The film has seen its collections increase every Friday since its release.
This latest Sandalwood blockbuster continues to put numbers on board not just in India but even overseas. Now the latest feat to be achieved is crossing the milestone of 250 crores globally.
300 crore mark
The 2nd highest-grossing Kannada film, Kantara has earned a massive total of 217 crores nett (all languages) in 28 days in India. Adding further from overseas, the film stands at a solid number of 250.23 crores gross at the worldwide box office. There’s no doubt that the 300 crore mark will be crossed. It’s only to see how many days it will take from here.
To be noted, the Rishab Shetty-starrer has also become the eighth highest-grossing film of 2022. The list includes films like ‘KGF 2’, ‘RRR’, ‘Ponniyin Selvan I’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Vikram’, ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’.
Also featuring Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda in pivotal roles, the film has been written, directed, and acted by Rishab Shetty. The Kannada period action thriller has been termed one of the best films of the year by several critics. ‘Kantara’ has reportedly sold its digital streaming rights to OTT giant Amazon Prime Video. The film is expected to release on OTT this November 2022.
