After the success of 777 Charlie starring Rakshit Shetty, the actor has revealed that he is working on a sequel to his super hit Kannada movie Kirik Party (2016). With this, there are speculations that Rashmika Mandanna might play a small cameo.
Kirik Party 2
Kannada actor and filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s fame grew all-time high when Kirik Party hit the theatres in 2016. The film, directed by Rishab Shetty, brought about a difference in the history of Kannada cinema. Set in a college backdrop, Kirik Party took the audience on a nostalgic trip.
Rakshit Shetty had earlier revealed that he will soon be starting work on Kirik Party 2. Stating that he is writing the interesting sequel in his ‘head’. He said, “Yes, we will start work on Kirik Party 2 after Richard Anthony. I am writing the sequel right now in my head, and I will soon put it on paper. It’s a film with the same characters and we will be taking a 10-year leap in the story.”
The writer-director also took to Twitter to reveal that he has got a perfect plot for the sequel to Kirik Party. His post read, “I had no certain plans of KP2 until now but I certainly got a perfect plot now…#KirikParties will come back on screen and it will be such a fight… (sic)”

Besides Rakshit Shetty, the original film starred the likes of Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde, and Achyuth Kumar in key roles. This was Rashmika’s debut film and from here the actress rose to fame.
Rashmika’s cameo in the film
With the sequel on the radar for Rakshit, the actor was asked about a possible collaboration with the Rashmika.
“As for now, I have 5 films in the pipeline. I am definitely going to do Kirik Party 2. So we have still not frozen the plot or the cast behind the movie. I have two things right now; one is, that we can cast Rashmika but the story will go in a certain way. Another one is to take an independent path, as Saanvi is already dead, and bringing both Saanvi and Aarya will be a cliche,” he said speaking to Bollywood Hungama.
“It also depends on Rashmika’s dates, as I have not yet communicated with her about the film. But you may never know, there is always a chance. And we might work together in the future,” Rakshit concludes.
