Maharashtra Govt is facing a situation with some leaders rebelling against the Aghadi alliance and demanding Uddhav Thackeray split ties from NCP and Congress. The rebellion is led by senior Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde who voiced a list of grudges from the Aghadi govt and expressed how they were sidelined for the last 2.5 years.

In between all this, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said there are many good hotels in the state, and anyone can come and stay.

“I invite MLAs from all over the country to visit Assam. How can I stop people from coming to a hotel? Can I tell you not to come to a hotel in Assam because there is a federal structure in the country? I am happy when anyone comes to Assam, they can stay as long as they want,” Mr. Sarma said.

Asked what he would tell Mr. Thackeray, he said, “You should come for a vacation too.”

Maharashtra crisis

Mr. Shinde has reached the critical number of MLAs, 37, required to split the party in the assembly without falling foul of the anti-defection law.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena faction led by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has filed a petition before the deputy speaker of the state assembly seeking the cancellation of membership of 12 rebel MLAs including Eknath Shinde for “not attending” the legislative party meeting held on Wednesday.
