The initiative has been started by an 26 year old entrepreneur, Udita Patel who runs ‘Salt’, a fintech company. She writes letters to singles in the season of valentine’s and helps them to combat loneliness.
The idea and the story
She started this in February 2018 and wrote about 40 letters and 100 emails that year. Her idea was put forth by her on Facebook that year and she received many responses. The following year she wrote a 110 letters and about 400 emails. This kept growing and now she writes 1800 requests pending!
She has kept a deadline on Feb 10 and Feb 14 for letters and email respectively. She speaks about the idea of loving oneself through the email and believes that it is the primary thing that can be done to be mentally healthy. She also writes movie suggestions and many such things.
She has to pay about 60 to 200 Rs per letter and she does not mind that. Sitting in Indiranagar in Bengaluru she has even written to the Andamans!
