Yesterday, India managed to win against Sri Lanka in a very tight chase, after losing the early wickets. India is currently in Sri Lanka, playing a 3-match ODI series followed by T-20.

Batting first, Sri Lanka put up 276 runs on board for India to chase. It looked tough as India lost its top order but Surya Kumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar turned the game for the country. With half-centuries each by the two young rising cricketers, India literally grabbed the victory from Sri Lanka’s hands.

Post-match celebrations were a treat to watch. In a video shared by BCCI, Rahul Dravid was seen congratulating the players in his own style and charm. It was his first major coaching assignment with the senior team, and he came through.

Addressing the players, Rahul Dravid says,

“They responded, we responded back. Like a champion team, we had our backs to the wall. We found our way to win.”

This is how a real leader looks like. Not letting down the opposition and at the same time, motivating his team, keeping their spirits high, and pushing them for more. Rahul Dravid as a coach is the best thing that has happened to Indian Cricket and there are no second thoughts to it.

“No better way to win the match for the country. Rahul sir told me to play all the balls. I’ve played a few innings with India A and I think he has belief in me. He told me he thinks I’m good enough to be a No. 7. He has belief in me. Hopefully, in the coming matches I don’t have to bat,” Chahar said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
