Meet Nisith Pramanik; The Youngest Member Of Narendra Modi’s New Union Cabinet

On Wednesday, 43 new ministers were inducted into PM Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Twelve ministers tendered their resignations, which were later accepted by the President Of India. The ministers part of the outgoing group are Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javdekar, Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Thawarchand Gehlot, D. V. Sadananda Gowda, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Babul Supriyo, Sanjay Dhotre, Rattan Kataria, Rattan Lal Kataria, Partap Chandra Sarangi and Debasree Chaudhuri.

Nisith Pramanik makes it to the Cabinet

Nisith Pramanik (35) has taken an oath today as one of the newest members of PM Narendra Modi’s cabinet. A Lok Sabha MP from Cooch Behar in West Bengal, Nisith is serving his first term in the position. He was a member of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) before he made the switch to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2019. With this, he will become the first-ever Central Minister from Cooch Behar.

The youngest member of Team Modi

35 years old, Nisith Pramanik will be the youngest member in Narendra Modi’s cabinet. He holds a BCA degree and has also served as an Assistant Teacher in a primary school. The MP is married to Priyanka Pramanik and has two sons.

Started his career in TMC’s Youth Wing

The latest member of the cabinet, Pramanik started his political career as a youth leader of the Trinamool Congress. However, in the 2018 Panchayat elections in Bengal, he fielded 300 independent candidates against TMC. A few of them even managed a victory.

At the start of 2019, he joined BJP, and a few days later, the party gave him a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections from the Cooch Behar seat. Despite having stiff opposition, he completed a convincing victory. He also recently won the assembly elections from the Dinhata seat of Bengal while being an MP. The politician later resigned based on party orders.
