Every Bengalurian’s favourite tourist spot Nandi Hills will get a makeover soon. Located just sixty kilometres away from the city, Nandi Hills is the go-to destination for citizens wanting to escape for a day from the clutches of the buzzing city.
Nandi Hills and its problems
Nandi Hills is a victim of its own success. Considering its proximity to the IT-capital, people throng to this local almost every weekend. With this, the problems of cleanliness and safety have also arrived at the Hills. There is constant talk of developing this spot so that it can cater to more people. In line with this, we could witness the State Government developing the Nandi Hills soon.
To be developed as a tourist circuit
K Sudhakar, the MLA of Chikkaballapura, recently went out of an early morning jog to the Nandi Hills. On the same day, he announced an interesting plan that was being etched out for the Hills. He said: “Visited Nandi Hills this morning to chalk out a detailed blueprint for comprehensive development of Nandi Hills as a tourist circuit. Nandi Hills attracts tourists of all ages, round the year, due to its historical and religious significance and mesmerising natural landscape.”
The minister added: “The plan includes beautification of the entire hill station and creation of world-class tourist amenities including eco-tourism facilities, trekking trails to surrounding hills, restoration of archaeological monuments and preservation of Nellikayi Basava and Mantapas.“
