The Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jyotiraditya Scindia claimed that his former colleague Kamal Nath called him a “dog” once.
While the Indian National Congress party has refused the claim and denied the allegation, Scindia continues to be firm on the allegation. Scindia has been using the claim during his campaign for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s by-poll election. This comes after the derogatory ‘item’ remark by Kamal Nath for a woman BJP leader. Rallying at Sadora, Scindia said,
“Kamal Nath came here and called me a dog. Yes, Kamal Nath, I am a dog and the public is my owner. Yes, I am a dog because the dog protects his owner and if someone brings corrupt and ill-intended policies, then this dog will attack that person.”
Kamal Nath Denies
Narendra Saluja, the media coordinator of the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath, has come out and said that the term was never used by the leader for Scindia or anyone else. He said,
“Kamal Nath never used this word for anybody in his speeches.”
Kamal Nath has been in controversies recently as the bypoll assembly elections are around the corner. Post the ‘item’ remark for a woman leader of the BJP, Kamal Nath was stripped of the “star campaigner” role of the Congress Party in the ongoing campaign for the by-polls. The election commission cited multiple violate of the model code of conduct as the reason. However, Kamal Nath has moved to the courts challenging the decision of the court.
There has been a tiff going on between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath ever since Scindia quit the Congress with 22 MLAs and joined the BJP which brought down curtains on the Kamal Nath-led Congress government at Madhya Pradesh. Kamal Nath has claimed that the Congress will return to power after the bypolls.
