On Saturday, the Pakistan politician and the former speaker of Pakistan’s assembly Ayaz Sadiq were trolled when the posters of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan was put upon his constituency.
Recently, on the floor of the Pakistan assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, of the PMNL party, made statements about the release of the Wing Commander Abhinandan who was captured after his jet crashed in Pakistan’s territory post the Balakot strike in 2019. Post the statement of his went viral, there were posters in his constituency. In some of the posters, there were photos of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. This is reportedly an attempt to paint Ayaz Sadiq as pro-India.
In the statement, Ayaz Sadiq said that the legs of Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar was shaking after the foreign minister said that if Abhinandan is not released, India will attack Pakistan. He said,
“I remember Shah Mahmood Qureshi was in the meeting in which Imran Khan had refused to attend and Chief of Army Staff General Bajwa came into the room, his legs were shaking and he was perspiring. Foreign Minister said for god’s sake let Abhinandan go, India’s about to attack Pakistan at 9 pm.”
‘Is This Your New Pakistan?’
A Journalist Naila Inayat tweeted the pictures of the posters on the road and wrote,
“Modi, Abhinandan posters in Lahore. Kya yeh hai apka naya Pakistan. Posters and banners target PMNL leader, call him “Ghaddar”, “Mir Sadiq Mir Jaffar, Ayaz Sadiq” and “Modi ka yaar”.
The posters call Ayaz Sadiq a traitor and a friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This has triggered several debates in Pakistan, mostly against the leader. This was also quoted by several Indian media houses terming it to be a surrender by Pakistan. There were also reports of Pakistani leaders hailing Modi in the assembly but was later debunked.
