On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of India delivered the verdict in the plea of Rhea Chakraborty seeking a transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai. In the verdict, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI inquiry into the case.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut who has constantly been in the news issuing statements in the ongoing saga of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. In his statement reacting to the Supreme Court judgment, he said,
“Those in the government who know the law, the Mumbai police commissioner or our advocate general can talk about it, it is not fit for me to comment on the verdict of Supreme Court.”
A Classic U-Turn, Says Social Media
The social media is interpreting the statement as a classic case of U-turn by the Shiv Sena leader as he has been advocating the capabilities of Mumbai police in investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He had been saying that the CBI inquiry is not required in the case. He had earlier questioned the relationship between Sushant Singh Rajput and his father. He even went onto allegate about Sushant’s father’s marital status. He even said,
“If there has been any kind of miss on our part, we will think about it. But I will have to look into it. What I have said so far is based on the information I have, Sushant’s family is speaking on the basis of information they have.”
Raut also had earlier alleged a political conspiracy against Uddhav Thackeray and the Shiv Sena government. He had said,
“The kind of politics being done in Bihar and Delhi over Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, I believe a conspiracy is being hatched against Maharashtra government. Mumbai Police is a capable force and is trying its best to bring out the truth.”
In order to safeguard his government against allegations, Raut went onto said that an investigation should be conducted to establish the reason behind Rajput and Ankita Lokhande’s break-up. He also alleged that Lokande left Sushant while Rhea Chakraborty was with him.
