Sushanth Singh Case: NCB Charges Rhea Chakraborty Again; Something is Fishy Here

The NCB has filed draft charges in the drugs case linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, in which it has stated that Rhea Chakraborty procured contraband and encouraged his “extreme drug addiction”.

NCB charges Rhea Chakraborty

According to the reports, actor Rhea Chakraborty was charged on Wednesday for buying narcotics for her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, who died in 2020, by the country’s anti-drugs agency.

A charge sheet filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) named her and 34 others as accused in the high-profile case. Rhea Chakraborty, 30, has been charged with purchasing and financing a small quantity of marijuana. Her brother, Showik Chakraborty, has also been named as an accused.

The NCB has said she received and delivered marijuana to Sushant Singh. She also made payments for it at his instance, they said. If convicted, Rhea Chakraborty could face over 10 years in jail.

The draft charges state, “That in pursuance of aforesaid criminal conspiracy or otherwise, you accused no. 10 Rhea Chakroborty received many deliveries of ganja from Samuel Miranda, Showik Charoborty and Dipesh Sawant and others and handed over those deliveries to Actor late Sushant Singh Rajput and made payments for those deliveries at the instance Showik & Late Sushant Singh Rajput during the period March 2020 to September 2020.”

Sushant Rajput investigation

Previously, Rhea Chakraborty was accused by Sushant Singh’s family of mentally harassing him, exploiting him for money, and having a role in his death – which has been the focus of investigations by central agencies.

Besides the NCB, she is also being investigated by the CBI, which is investigating Sushant Singh’s death, and the economic factor is being looked into by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Ms. Chakraborty was arrested in the case in September 2020. However, she was granted bail by the Bombay High Court almost a month after her arrest.
