The Janhvi Kapoor starrer Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is all set to hit the OTT platform. However, the film produced by Dharma Productions had its head Karan Johar’s name from the credit removed.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions have been producing hits after hits for almost two decades. For the first time, the name of Karan Johar is disappeared from the credit section of the trailer and the poster. Rumor has that the move may be taken following a massive backlash against the filmmaker in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The poster which was shared earlier during the announcement of the film had Karan Johar’s name while the recent poster does not have it. Incidentally, Karan Johar hasn’t shared the poster or the trailer of the film on any of his social media platforms.
Janhvi’s Biggest Film
Although the trailer was released despite his name attached to it, people on the internet called to boycott the film because it has Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of Sridevi in the lead. People called out the nepotism and asked fellow citizens to boycott the film.
The film is a biopic of Gunjan Saxena, the first woman pilot to go into combat during the 1999 Kargil war against Pakistan. While the trailer has received praise, the people are not impressed with the casting choice. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi in a prominent role. While this should have been the film that grabs everyone’s attention, it has slightly deviated into another debate.
