Member of Parliament from Bhopal Pragya Thakur Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that reciting the Hanuman Chalisa would eradicate the novel coronavirus infection.
On Saturday, the MP claimed that one should recite the Hanuman Chalisa five times a day till 7 pm on the 5th of August. By doing so, one would eradicate the infection of COVID-19. 5th August 2020 is the date which is set for the Bhoomi Puja ceremony of the construction of the massive Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The Member of Parliament tweeted,
“Let us all of us together make a spiritual effort to wish people good health and end the coronavirus epidemic. Recite Hanuman Chalisa five times a day at your home from July 25 to August 5. Conclude this ritual by lighting lamps on August 5 and offering “aarti” to Lord Ram at home.”
She further claimed that the coronavirus pandemic will disappear when all the Hindus of the country would chant the prayer in one voice. In a video that was tweeted, Pragya Thakur said that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is looking to end the lockdown on the 4th of August. She said,
“Though the lockdown will be over on August 4, this ritual [recitation of Hanuman Chalisa] will end on August 5, when ‘Bhoomi pujan’ for Ram temple in Ayodhya will be performed. We will celebrate that day like Diwali.”
Speaker Backs Pragya In Claim
On the 23rd of Jul, the protem speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Rameshwar Sharma had also claimed that the Ram temple will get rid of the contagion. He said,
“He [Ram] had reincarnated for the welfare of mankind and to kill demons. As soon as the construction of Ram temple begins, the destruction of the COVID-19 pandemic will begin too.”
Following the landmark judgment of November 9, the construction of the Ram temple is set to begin from the 5th of August. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the ceremony.
