The Ram Janmbhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust has sent a formal invite to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation of the Ram temple which is scheduled on August 5th.

It has been over 10 months since the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court for the Ram Janmabhoomi was delivered. A trust was formed to oversee the construction of the temple. Because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the construction was delayed. However, it is all set to begin from August 5th.

Here are 10 things you need to know about the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Site Levelling

The Ram Janmabhoomi land is being leveled by heavy earth-movers.

The Bhumi Pooja

In what will be the landmarking ceremony, the Bhumi Pooja is expected to take place either on the 3rd of August and the 5th of August depending on the planetary configurations.

PM Modi to be Invited

The trust is looking to invite Prime Minister Modi for the groundbreaking ceremony. As per reports, the Prime Minister is believed to have said yes.

3 Years To Complete

As per the sources in the trust, it would take a minimum of three to four years to complete the construction of the temple once the map is finalized.

Design to be Amended

The trust has decided to amend the design that was laid down by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The height of the temple is reported to be raised from 128 feet to 161 feet.

The Domes To Increase

The revised designs will also increase the number of comical domes from the pre-existing three to five.

The Circumference to Change

The revised design has also proposed to extend the circumference of the temple from 70 acres to 108 acres.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad Resists New Design

Even as the discussions of the revised design are going on since the supreme court, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has underlined that the earlier model needs to be followed.

Crowd-Funding Campaign

The trust has the intention to launch a nationwide crowd-funding campaign to reach out to 10 crore families to donate to the construction of the Ram temple.

Invitation to the PM sent

Yesterday, the 15 member trust met and have reportedly sent the invite to the Prime Ministers. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s principal secretary and the chairman of the temple construction committee.
