Tit-Bit: In the regional category, Bengaluru Airport bagged an international award for being the best in India and Central Asia. Being one of the busiest airports in India after Mumbai and Delhi, Bengaluru Airport won the award for the second consecutive year and two times in 2015 and 2011.
The 35th Busiest Airport in Asia
Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International airport serving the capital of Karnataka is spread over 4000 acres and is located about 40 kilometers north near the city Devanahalli. As of 2016, the airport surpassed Delhi and Mumbai airports to become the third-busiest airport in the city and 35th busiest airport in Asia. As a testament to it, the airport handled over 22.2 million passengers in the year 2016 with about 500 aircraft movements a day.
The Prestigious Syntrax award for Kempegowda International airport
Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) confirmed in a statement,
“Kempegowda International Airport was given the Syntrax award for being voted as the best regional airport in India and Central Asia by air travelers at the World Airport awards at Stockholm in Sweeden on Wednesday.”
BIAL’s Cheif executive Mr. Hari Marar said,
“The award reaffirms our commitment to provide a world-class experience for travelers at the airport.”
The Largest Passenger Satisfaction Assessment
The syntax awards are one of the prestigious surveys and the largest passenger satisfaction assessment measuring airport service excellence and quality. This time, the survey happened with questionnaires and winners are declared based on 13.37 million questionnaires from 500 airports worldwide between August 2017 and February 2018.
The survey happens to know the passenger’s choice for the best airport and here regional category refers to short International and domestic flights than the network of Intercontinental.
