Criticism On The Other Side
However, there was a flip side too. The constant fuel hike around the country has enraged the citizens with the financial crisis already around. A section of people on social media was quick to recall the tweets of celebrities who had criticized the UPA government during the fuel hike and are silent now. Among them were Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Akshay Kumar. Their tweets of that time have gone viral now.
Among those who reminded them about their silence was Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad who called out the hypocrisy of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, and BJP Leader Smriti Irani.
Where have all these wise cracks and Lols disappeared? Do we now live in an age where making puerile wise cracks also requires great courage? https://t.co/OYqmN3kVEd
