The number of Coronavirus cases soars past 9500 in the state. In a new development, the state government has said that only serious COVID-19 patients will be admitted to the hospital.
The Deputy Chief Minister of the state CN Ashwathnarayan spoke to the media and confirmed it. He said,
“All the COVID-19 infected people don’t require hospitalization. They can be kept in COVID care centers as they are either asymptomatic or mild cases. They don’t require intensive medical care. We can make use of the hotels that are vacant to keep them and monitor them. Any fluctuation in the health, they can be immediately shifted them to hospital. They don’t normally require it. The serious symptomatic patients will be admitted to COVID-19 hospitals. Rest will be placed under COVID care centers.”
He also said that there will be at least 20,000 capacity of COVID care centers. Karnataka has reported 9170 cases so far.
Karnataka Fixes Rates In Private Hospital
The Karnataka government is going to rope in Private hospitals into its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has come out with a fixed rate for COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals.
If the patients are referred by the public healthcare authorities, the general ward would cost Rs 5,200, for HDU it is Rs. 7,000, for Isolation ICU without ventilator Rs. 8,500 and with ventilator Rs. 10,000.
If the patients directly get admitted to the private hospital, the general ward would cost Rs 10,000, for HDU it is Rs. 12,000, for Isolation ICU without ventilator Rs. 15,000 and with ventilator Rs. 25,000.
On the daily Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike bulletin of June 22nd, the municipal body confirmed that there are 440 containment zones in the city. The city has reported 1,398 confirmed cases of COVID-19 out of which 919 are active currently. The highest number of cases from a containment zone is 67 from the ward of Padarayanapura. These cases are spread over four containment zones in the area.
In the bulletin, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike also mentioned that out of the 440 containment zone, the status of 8 has been extended while the 44 containment zone’s status was termed normal. The bulletin also indicates that most of the containment areas in the city have only one reported case.
The total number of cases in India has reached 4,41,070 out of which 1,78,714. 2,48,286 patients have recovered successfully in India. Karnataka has reported 9170 cases so far.
