As the Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise paved the way for conversation around abuse of power in the Industry of films, popular playback singer Sonu Nigam recently put out a video on social media where he drew people’s attention to Music mafia.
Sonu’s Allegation
He pointed out that many upcoming artists lose out of opportunities because more often than not, it is the superstar who is calling the shots and not the composer. He also warned people that these practices should stop and if it is not stopped in time, there might be suicides in the music industry soon.
Reaction By The Music Industry
After Sonu Nigam’s video went viral, many music directors, singers, and other stakeholders came forward and said that there is no such thing in the industry. Some denied the allegation completely.
Sonu Releases A New Video
In the new video, Sonu Nigam first thrashed six music directors who he refers to “geniuses” and said that they were forced to give an interview against him. One of them, as he refers to, is Amaal Malik. He also thrashed Times of India for passing a verdict on his allegations.
Sonu Accuses Bhushan Kumar
Sonu has accused the T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar to be one of the main people who run the music mafia from which many upcoming talents are being denied the opportunity. He even said,
“You have brawled against the wrong person. Remember those times, when you came home and pleaded me to do Deewana for me, please help me meet Smita Thackeray, please help me meet Bal Thackeray. Please save me from Abu Salem.”
Who is Abu Salem?
Abu Salem is a gangster and a terrorist who operated out of Mumbai for several years before he was convicted to 25 years of life imprisonment. He is famous for terrorizing the Hindi film industry.
Sonu Threatens To Release A Video
In the new video, Sonu said,
“Remember Marina Kuwar. Remember marina Kuwar? Why did she say and why did she back out, I don’t know, media knows. I have her (Marina’s) video. If you ever fight with me again, I shall upload that video on my YouTube channel.”
Who is Marina Kuwar?
Marina Kuwar, an Indian television actress, came out in the open and gave an interview to Aaj Tak in 2018 and accused Bhushan Kumar of sexual misconduct. This was during the MeToo wave in the country. The case was fast forgotten.

Divya Khosla Kumar, the wife of Bhushan Kumar, has reacted to the controversy. She posted in her Instagram story and thrashed Sonu Nigam. She wrote,
“Today it’s all about who can run a good campaign. I’m even seeing people being able to sell lies and deceits with their strong campaigns. #SonuNigam such kind of people know how to play with the minds of the audience. God save the world.”
