Dhananjay, a 24 year old man, played with fire by drinking pesticide while recording his suicide on a social media app, Tik Tok. The incident has been reported as an alarming case of being irresponsible.
The incident took place in Koratagere taluk of Tumakuru district on Saturday evening. After Dhananjay was accused by his mother for not being the bread earner of the family, he took this grudge as a personal affront. Further, to justify himself in his own way, he bought a bottle of pesticide and recorded a small video saying, “I wanted to have a feel of death and will try to kill myself.”
The victim, a resident of Gouraganahalli, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during the treatment the next day. Meanwhile, police have filed a case of unnatural death.
Dhananjay had also attempted unconventional ways of killing himself by ramming his bike into a tree to have a ‘feel’ of death, but he survived with minor injuries, said police.
Dhananjay’s family and neighbours were aware of his acts and had advised him not to risk his life with such stunts. However, the man ignored their advice and continued with his ‘death experiment’. His experiments were recorded on social media by him; maybe to get an opinion from the public about his condition.
