Union Home Minister Amit Shah put to rest all the speculations about the rift between BJP and the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal-United and said that the National Democratic Alliance will form government in Bihar with 2/3 majority.
Amit Shah was addressing the nation through a virtual rally on Sunday. He said,
“There are elections in Bihar in the coming days, I believe that under Nitish Kumar ji’s leadership NDA will form the government with 2/3rd majority but this isn’t the time for politics. We all should fight COVID-19 under Modiji’s leadership.”
He also said that the virtual rally of Sunday is not an election rally but a rally to bring the country together during a crisis like COVID-19. Despite that, the Union Minister mentioned about Uri, Pulwama and the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. He said,
“There was a time when anybody used to enter our borders, beheaded our soldiers and Delhi’s darbar remained unaffected. Uri and Pulwama happened during our time, it was the Modi & BJP government, we did surgical strikes and airstrike. Modiji brought the Citizenship Amendment Act. This Act provided citizenship and respect to refugees in India.”
Over 1.25 Crore Migrants Sent Home
The Home Minister also spoke about the migrant crisis for which the ruling government has received flak for not handling the situation well. The government announced the special Shramik trains almost a month after the lockdown when already many migrants had started to walk to their homes. Over 170 migrants have been killed in road and train accidents. In a recent report, it was said that over 80 migrant workers have been died due to starvation in the Shramik Special Trains. There had also been the controversy around the government charging fares for the Trains.
Shah rubbished the claims and said that over 1.25 crore stranded migrants to their home towns. He said,
“When all arrangements were made, quarantine centers were set up, then only trains were run from the 1st of May. They were named ‘shramik trains’ as a tribute to the migrants. Around 1.25 crore migrants have been safely brought to their places by BJP’s Modi government.”
