Save The Date & Time: India’s First Super-Hero Shaktimaan Is Back on DD National.

Joining the list of returns on Doordarshan from the 80s and 90s era of Indian television, superhero show “Shaktimaan”, is all set to entertain us with classic adventure and action once again amid Coronavirus lockdown.

Earlier, it was announced the cult hit mythological series “Ramayana”, “Mahabharat”, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Circus” and “Byomkesh Bakshi”, featuring Rajit Kapur, will be re-telecast on the national broadcaster and its sister channels during the 21-day lockdown to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Now seeing rising demand from people who are asking to re telecast India’s first superhero, DD National network taking things under consideration, is all set to telecast Mukesh Khanna starrer famous serial for 1-hour daily on DD National network from April 2020 at 1 PM, the Government of India confirmed.

Mukesh Khanna looks excited 

Khanna took to Twitter to share the news. “Getting to watch two epics of our country ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Mahabharat’ in one day was a matter of great happiness for the 135 crore people who are under lockdown. Sit at home and enjoy it. There could not have been bigger good news.

“But I’d like to add something to this happy news for my ‘Shaktimaan’ fans, that ‘Shaktimaan’ is also going to come very soon,” he said in the video clip.

Shaktimaan is considered as one of India’s first superhero show. Mukesh Khanna played the role of the superhero and his reconstructed character ‘Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri’, a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz.

Shaktimaan was a human with superpowers. It aired on DD 1 from 1997 to 2005 which was later translated into different languages and aired on different channels.
