Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday distributed money to laborers under the MNREGA amid a 21-day lockdown because of the rising outbreak of Coronavirus.
CM Yogi distributed Rs 611 Crore
According to the sources, CM Yogi has distributed 611 crore rupees to 27.5 lakh laborers of the state. This money has been directly transferred to the bank account of the workers.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed private enterprises and organizations to must give one month’s salary to their employees without any deduction.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Awasthi said that no landlord would charge one month’s rent from any worker or laborer. On receiving any such complaint, the police will take strict action against the landlord who took the rent.
State Government repeated that nodal officers in 16 states of the country are helping the people of Uttar Pradesh in their respective areas and appealed everyone to remain wherever they are and follow the lockdown.

CM interacts with 1.63 lakh BJP workers
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directly interacted with 1.63 lakh BJP workers of the state through video conferencing.
“The Chief Minister said that all the BJP workers should make the public aware of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package while using social media platforms. Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been released through this package. The Chief Minister called upon the workers to provide more and more essential facilities to the people because of the Covid-19 epidemic,” said a release.
The Chief Minister, while interacting with all the workers, said that under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, every health worker fighting ‘Covid-19’ will be provided an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh under the insurance scheme.
“The Central Government has ordered the State Governments to use the ‘ Welfare Fund for Building and Construction Workers’ to provide relief to construction workers. 8 crore poor families will be provided with gas cylinders for the next three months,” said the statement.
