Prime Minister’s Janata Curfew Gets A Roaring Response And Is A Big Hit In India

‘Janata Curfew’, an idea proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where people of the country imposed a curfew on themselves, is now proved to be a big hit across the country. A gesture of clapping and ringing bells particularly has been a huge success.

People came out of their homes and started clapping along with their neighbors. The gesture was aimed at showing gratitude towards the community of people who are working relentlessly in dealing with the novel COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in the country. People thanked the medical fraternity, the police, the dairy shops, vegetable vendors, the banking sector and the public transport community.

While the general public expressed the positive vibes of the gesture on social media, celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Kangana Ranaut, etc. too contributed to the movement by tweeting their videos out.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted with a video and said,

“Historic .. we are ONE .. and we have WON. At 5 pm March 22nd the entire nation came out & applauded NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS! PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN – JAI HIND”

Karan Johar chose Instagram to put it out the video of his family clapping and banging plates on his balcony. He wrote,

The Bollywood couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika too did their part and Ranveer posted a photo of his actress wife Deepika and wrote,

“Thank you to our Heroes”

Rangoli Chandel, Kangana Ranaut’s sister tweeted a video with her sister and parents and wrote,

“Here we are expressing our gratitude for all the people who are staying outside of their houses so we can stay inside our houses, May Maa Sherawali protect you”

It seems like that country have begun its fight against the deadly virus on a positive note in what feels like an important week for India ahead. However, the fight is still on in the hospitals and in people’s homes.
