Kunal Kamra, a stand-up comedian known for his political comedy, is yet again in the news and, as always, for all the wrong reasons. Ahead of the commencement of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Janata Curfew’, Kunal tweeted a picture standing in his balcony and doing an offensive gesture.
‘Janata Curfew’, an initiative by Prime Minister Modi where he appealed to all Indians to stay indoors supporting the government and medical professionals in fighting the novel COVID-19 coronavirus. As a part of ‘Janata Curfew’, people across the country will self-impose a curfew on themselves from 7 am to 9 pm.
In another appeal, Prime Minister also requested the nation to perform a special gesture to honor the efforts of Doctors and other medical professionals who are at the forefront of the fight. At exactly 5 pm, every Indian is supposed to come out of his door or stand at the balcony and clap or make similar sounds in sync for a stretch of 5 minutes.

Replying to his tweet, Amit Thadhani, a practicing surgeon said,
“You may show doctors your middle finger, like so many creeps do, but we will still try our best to save your life if you fall sick. Because unlike yours, our life isn’t a joke.”

Kunal Kamra Clarifies His Stance
The response is going viral on social media with many supporting the doctor and bashing the comedian. Responding to the narrative that his gesture was against the medical fraternity, Kunal was quick to clarify his stance in another tweet that the gesture was against the ‘PR stunt’ of the Prime Minister.

However, this isn’t the first time Kunal is being criticized. Kunal is famous for his anti-Modi and anti-BJP stance. Earlier this year, after he heckled anchor Arnab Goswami on an IndiGo flight, he was placed under no-fly list by multiple airlines after Union Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri’s strict instruction. Kunal had challenged the ban in Delhi High Court which on Friday refused to hear his plea.
