Prime Minister Narendra Modi dropped a huge bomb over social media that has left netizens wondering, ‘what just happened?’. Giving a surprise, PM tweeted on Monday evening that he was considering giving up on his Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube accounts.

The biggest political figure in India who has millions of followers on social media has decided to quit the internet platform for good.
Prime Minister surprised everyone with a tweet that read, “This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. I will keep you all posted.”

The 69-year-old did not specify if he meant he was staying away from his social media accounts for a day on Sunday. Or he just wants to call off social media for good.
Previously, he has often asked people not to use social media to spread rumors and false information. And he had also appealed to people that their language should not offend others.
No specific reasons mentioned
Notably, PM’s social media accounts are the most followed and engaged in India. According to a study by Yahoo India, released in December, Modi was the most searched personality online in India for the second year in a row in 2019.
Deciding to quit social media without a reason, is a puzzle that still needs to be solved. When contacted, sources declined to disclose any details and said that the plan of action will be revealed in the next few days.
Congress regarded this situation as a chance and tried to mock the Prime Minister by saying Modi he should rather stop hatred than social media.
