The tech giant Infosys is now amongst the top 5 ranked companies in the world. Forbes names Narayana Murthy’s company as world’s 3rd best-regarded company, leaving behind Apple, Siemens, Walt Disney, and others.
Forbes lists Infosys amongst the top 5 Companies
According to the latest information released by American Business magazine Forbes, India’s Information technology company Infosys stands 3rd in the list of most regarded company in the world. The companies that stood above Infosys are Visa and Ferrari.
Companies standing below Infosys are Netflix, Paypal, Microsoft, Walt Disney, Toyota, Mastercard and Costco in the top 10. On the other hand, India’s Tata Consultancy Services is at number 22.
The ranking was based on trustworthiness, social conduct, the strength of the companies’ products and services, and how they are fare as employers.
Forbes said it partnered with German statistics company Statista to choose its annual list of the world’s 2,000 largest public companies down to the top 250 best-regarded businesses. To collect data, Statista surveyed 15,000 respondents from more than 50 countries.
Asian invasion
Out of 250 best companies, 59 are based in the United States of America. Calling it an Asian invasion, the next three countries having companies listed are Japan, China, and India. Apart from Narayan Murthy’s Infosys, other companies were also listed in the 2019 report; Tata Consultancy Services at 22, Tata Motors at 31, Tata Steel at 105, Larsen & Toubro at 115, Mahindra and Mahindra at 117, HDFC at 135, and Bajaj Finserv at 143. Wipro stood at 168.
The previous year, Infosys was ranked 31. The reason for its huge jump to the number 3rd position is the company’s better performance than most of its rivals. It ended the last fiscal with a revenue of $11.8 billion and boasts of the market capitalization of $46.7 billion.
