After successfully carving a niche through her offbeat flicks in the Bollywood fraternity, “Bareilly Ki Barfi” fame Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is now gearing up for yet another directorial venture. It is going to be a special one this time- a movie based on the life of India’s first IT couple Narayana Murty and Sudha Murty.
Film Is In Scripting Stage
Tiwari recently wrapped up her third movie “Panga” starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead. It is expected to release during Republic Day in 2020. Work on her fourth film based on the lives of the Murty couple has already started. Originally the idea was conceptualized by writer-director Sanjay Tripathy which Ashwiny liked immediately. According to reports, the film is already in the scripting stage.
It says, “She has already started researching Indian IT’s first couple because she wants to have all the facts right before she dives into this inspiring story. The film is expected to roll next year. Sanjay Tripathy (writer-director) came up with the idea and scripting will begin soon.”
The film will be produced by Aswiny’s filmmaker husband Nitesh Tiwari who will be joined by Mahaveer Jain and Ashwiny herself in the production team.
First IT Couple Of India
NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy is the first Indian IT couple of India. They have contributed immensely to the IT sector. Narayana Murty was declared as the “Father of the Indian IT Sector” by Time magazine and hence is now known by the same name in the industry. He along with his wife founded India’s leading IT company Infosys in the year 1981.
He was the CEO of Infosys from 1981-2002 and in 2011 became the Chairman of the company. Murthy started off his career with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Patni Computer Systems in Pune. His wife, Sudha Murty is the first female engineer to be hired by automotive manufacturing company TELCO in Pune.
The couple was honored with Padma Shri by the government and later on Narayana Murty was also honored with Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India.
