Tejasvi Surya could not stop gushing on his Twitter account when on Tuesday morning at around 12.30 am the news of his selection as the candidate from BJP to contest Bangalore South seat came out.
The excitement of the 28-year-old young lawyer from Brahmin joint family is understandable as he was chosen from hundreds of members in fray for the seat.

Tejasvi Surya To Carry Legacy Of BJP Forward
It is believed that the selection of Tejasvi Surya is partly because the Bhartiya Janata Party wants to encourage young candidates to move ahead. Secondly, there are also speculations that the pressure from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was instrumental in the selection of Surya.
Bangalore South is a prestigious seat from where Ananth Kumar won twice for BJP. After his death, Surya has been given the responsibility to carry forward the legacy. It should be noted that Congress won the seat the last time in 1989.
Tejasvi Surya was selected among stiff competition from Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and two serving legislators as well as several senior members of the party.
Political Journey Of Young Tejasvi Surya
The legal graduate from Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies got associated with the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days. Later on, he joined the youth wing of BJP, Yuva Morcha.
His career in the political field took a leap after the Jan Chetana Yatra as Surya started making entry into the innermost folds of BJP. In his tweet, Surya said that he pestered Tejaswini Ananth Kumar to send him to the yatra that was led by the senior most BJP leader L.K.Advani in 2011.

According to reports, BJP is planning to introduce young members into important positions and giving candidature to Tejasvi Surya is a part of this planning. Â
Surya Knows How To Network
Just as there are supporters, there are people in the political world who are against even the popular leaders. The same can be said true about Surya who belongs to Chikmagalur district and is a nephew of Basavanagudi legislator L.A. Ravisubramanya.
Surya is an ardent supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP and has strong views on nationalism. A few of his close aides think that he is a Brahminical bigot and is not a grounded person. However, when it comes to his networking skills, everyone is in awe of his ability.
One of the people familiar with Surya said the young BJP candidate knows how to network and within short time gets close to people he meets.

Tough Times Ahead Of Surya
Despite the announcement of his selection, it is not going to be easy for Tejaswi Surya to face the competition from within the party and from the opposition. Winning too is not going to be easy because there is a strong possibility of Congress candidate B.K.Hariprasad getting backing from Vookaliga community.
The selection of Surya has been quite unexpected so the anger within the BJP party is going to be difficult to handle.
