·Kotebetta
Situated about 22 km from Madikeri, Kotebetta is a forested mountain and the third highest peak in Coorg. The walking trail is a mud path through coffee plantations and the peak is at a height of 1500 meters. There is a Shiva temple visited by priests and the place is surrounded by a soul-stirring silence that makes you feel calm and peaceful.
·Chelavara Falls
The walk through the lush greenery near Cheyyadane village to reach the Chelavara Falls is sure to leave you mesmerized. Located near the Chomakund hill, these falls are slightly taller than the Abbey falls and you can have a wonderful time playing in the water. Not visited by many tourists, the place is calm and quiet amidst scenic beauty. You could visit it and have a mini-picnic if you are going as a group.
Nalknad Palace
An unexplored monument, the Nalknad Palace is situated at the foothills of Tadiandanol. Built by the Haleri king, Chikka Veerarajendra, the palace was the last refuge of the king, who incidentally was the last king of the dynasty too. The palace has wonderful architecture and houses some ancient paintings and is located about 45 km from Madikeri.
Honnamana Kere
Nature lovers can spend hours at Honnamere Kere and the lake enveloped by beautiful landscapes. The temple of the goddess Honnamma is also a sacred place for Hindus.
Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary
If you visit the Iruppu falls at the foothills of the Brahmagiri Hills, then the sanctuary is a trek from there. Nestled in the border of Coorg and Wayanad, the sanctuary is home to many wildlife species.
Kumara Parvatha
Also known as Pushpagiri, Kumara Parvatha offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. A trek will take you to the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary.
Harangi Backwaters

Dubare
